Pick Up Regulations

For storage give adequate notice for scheduling pick up time.

  1. Use only records center boxes.
    • Ensure that the box(es):
      • a. is properly assembled.
      • b. is properly packed, i.e., not too tight, not too heavy, or underpacked.
      • c. is in good condition, not ripped, damp, or mildewed.
      • d. write temporary box number only on the front in lower right corner (do not write any other information on boxes for security reasons).
      • e. each new accession should begin with temporary box #1.
    • Store loose papers in folders.
    • Do not store books, journals, or other personel or professional items.
    • Do not pack hanging file folders. Remove records from hanging file folders and place in standard file folders.
    • Remove all metal clips.
  2. Complete a box worksheet; items 1 through 9, and items 11 and 12 must be completed. Item 10 is to be completed for individual files that are subject to retrieval.
